Why we need the playground
The goal of this project is to replace the existing playground equipment at Stanley Deming Park, located at the intersection of South Street and Park Way in the Village of Warwick, NY. The Town of Warwick consists of three villages, including the Village of Warwick, and numerous hamlets. After the members of Warwick Playground Dreams examined different sites throughout the Town of Warwick, we selected Stanley Deming Park as the site of our first project due to its central location in town and the Village’s desire to add a splash pad to the playground. The existing playground equipment was gifted to the Village thanks to the fundraising efforts of another Warwick mother 2 decades ago. Most of the play-ground equipment there will be 20 years old next year and is unfortunately showing great wear and tear. Aside from ramps on the large playground structure, there is no ADA-accessible equipment on the playground.
